Omar Fitzell Notes
Clean and crisp. Peppermint and cinnamon. Caramel and dark chocolate. Opens up to a herbaceous note with some time.
Palate
Warm apple pie with a very light tannic spice. Grape skins come through. Very slight sour note that is overcome by citrus, possibly orange zest that in turn leads into a honey sweetness.
Finish
Medium finish. Sweetness remains, coating your tongue as it is accompanied by an almond nuttiness and lingers there in harmony.
Overall
An exceptional whiskey that is well balanced and complex. This is a whiskey I hope Dunvilles continue to release in Single Cask form.
Al Higgins notes
Nose
Caramel toffees, wood smoke, stewed apples, cinnamon, dates and strawberries.
Palate
Incredible fruitiness with a rich mouthfeel. Flavours of lychees, rosewater, muscat grapes, green olives, red apples,
raisins and strawberry jam.
Finish
Even more fruit with a satisfying oakiness. Great length.
Overall
Superb use of finishing casks. Quite a special and delicious whiskey, but perhaps just a bit pricey?
