Greg Dillon Notes

Nose:

The nose is packed of sweet caramel notes and stone fruits, fresh green and red apples, very fruity, a nice oak
note accompanies all these fantastic fruits.

Palate:

Thick, elegant, notes of apricots, pears, peaches, apples are wrapped in a sweet Demerara sugar and vanilla note, accompanied by kiwi fruits, lychee and a luxurious mouthfeel. What a whiskey.

Finish:

Medium length, spicy, fruity,

Overall:

A reminder to each of us that Midleton created the world’s first luxury Irish whiskey, and are still producing some of the most impressive releases thirty-odd years later. A triumph.

Michael Foggarty Notes

Nose:

Lots of honey, toasted oak subtle vanilla, very classic Midleton.

Palate:

Spiced ginger candy. Seville oranges. A good dollop of oak, showing some aged whiskeys in the blend. Very creamy. Wait a few seconds and toasted coconut comes through.

Finish:

The oranges linger around, and your mouth is coated with crème brûlée. We’ve all had a tin of satsumas and Birds custard, right? Well maybe it’s just me.

Overall:

If you can open your wallet and pay the hefty €180 a bottle, then do, it’s a great example of blending great whiskeys from a great distillery.
