Greg Dillon Notes

Nose:

Really sweet, lots of sweet honeydew melon and oak notes. Vanilla dominates after time and some tobacco notes and lemon sherbet present too.

Palate:

Thick, creamy, fruity and potent in flavour – quite spicy and feels a bit unbalanced as there is quite a strong spirity note here.

Finish:

A really dry and fiery finish, again leading me to think it is not as well integrated as it could be.

Overall:

Nice if you like strong, spicy, face-slapping whiskies, but for me it was too spirity to be too highly regarded, could do with a bit of a rebalance.

Michael Foggarty Notes

Nose:

Sweet toffee, Werthers Orginals.

Palate:

Great maltiness and the usual traits of bourbon maturation, toffee, vanilla, toasted oak. You are sucking on your Werthers Original now. A solid dram without any drama.

Finish:

Sweet and the toffee lingers on.

Overall:

It’s a great whiskey, nothing too fussy, but that’s what it is meant to be. I wish Peter had finished it in a herring cask and gave us wafts of sea breeze. Maybe with his next Retronaut he could jump in his butter churn time machine and mature the casks in the Atlantic Ocean to impart a salty character.
