Omar Fitzell Notes
Very light but pleasant nose. Very floral and delicate. Little bit of a malty note with some green apple peels too. Slight hint of lemon.
Palate:
As expected form the nose, the palate is light, smooth and delicate. Vanilla, white chocolate and some malt coming through. Anybody remember Whoppa bars? They were 5 pence sweet bars? Well this reminds me of the spearmint version.
Finish:
Slight tingle on the tongue but the finish is short. A bit of an oak note before it disappears.
Overall:
This is the kind of enjoyable whiskey that I would love to sip while sitting outside on a sunny day…which I am right now. Very decent easy going whiskey. Nice step up from the NAS original but with the very same notes.
Al Higgins notes
Nose:
Zesty and very fruity. There are youthful touches and a delicate touch but there’s a promise of interesting things to come on the palate. Aromas of orange oil, pear drops, undiluted orange squash, honey and tangerines.
Palate:
Creamy, soft and warming. Some obvious Bourbon cask driven notes already here. Vanilla, cream, orange jelly, mandarins and tangerines followed by some gentle spice.
Finish:
Soft, juicy and fruity. This is well made whiskey that suggests there are more good things to come.
Overall:
Youthful, but this is a good deal better than you might expect.
