The deadline for public submissions on the amendments to the Irish Whiskey Product Specification is tomorrow 4th September. It’s your opportunity to make a real impact and help define the future of Irish Whiskey. We know many of you feel very passionately about this and we encourage those that have not yet submitted any comments to do so before the deadline.
To make this easier the members of the Irish Whiskey Guild have provided a template which may be used as a guide to your submissions. You determine what is important and relevant from your point of view and make the inclusions, amendments and comments as you see things from your perspective. The important thing is that you have the opportunity to have your say.
You can download the template here: Irish Whiskey Public Consultation Template from Irish Whiskey Guild
Add some of your your own words explaining why if you wish to see these changes implemented and send your submission to the Department before 4pm on 4 September. If you are part of a society, whiskey group or someway involved in the industry supply chain please mention that in your letter.
Submissions should be sent via e-mail with reference “Public Consultation Irish Whiskey” to: spiritdrinksconsultation@agriculture.gov.ie
Your individual submission matters. The more genuine, personal responses the Department receives, the harder it is to overlook the views of whiskey producers, enthusiasts and consumers.
