Dunville’s Irish Whiskey partners with premium spirits import specialists, Firebrand Africa

.

Firebrand will represent the Dunville’s portfolio across South Africa, which is now a key growth market for Irish Whiskey.

Dunville’s Irish Whiskey offers an award-winning range of Irish single malts and premium blends, and is particularly recognised for its distinctive sherry cask finishes.

The launch line-up includes Ireland’s Best Whiskey – Dunville’s 21 Year Old Palo Cortado Sherry Cask Finish, which has been named Overall Winner at the Irish Whiskey Awards for the last two years.

Stephen Magennis, Head of Global Sales at Dunville’s Irish whiskey, said:

“South Africa has recently emerged as the eighth biggest market for Irish whiskey and holds great potential for Dunville’s, with its global reputation for quality and craftsmanship.

“We are excited to work with Firebrand to share our exceptional spirits and more than 200 years of history and authentic Irish whiskey heritage. The Firebrand team bring the expertise, market understanding and ambition required to build Dunville’s thoughtfully and sustainably right across South Africa and surrounding SADC countries, maximising opportunities for growth in this increasingly important export market.”

Once the world’s largest whiskey brand, Dunville’s enjoyed global acclaim before its disappearance in the 1930s, becoming one of Ireland’s most lamented lost whiskeys. The brand was revived in 2012 by Echlinville Distillery with the aim of restoring Dunville’s to its rightful place among the world’s best whiskeys.

The partnership with Firebrand Africa marks an important step in that journey and is the latest in a series of new export deals for Dunville’s, which also recently announced collaborations with major distributors in Hungary and India.

Carolina van der Horst, Managing Director from Firebrand Africa said:

“Building premium brands through customer engagement is a big focus for us. In August we introduced Dunville’s to the public and the feedback has been fantastic.

“Dunville’s is thoroughly enjoyed by South Africa’s Whisky enthusiasts and we are excited to expand the range. Irish whiskey is certainly a significant category in South Africa’s liquor landscape, so we look forward to working closely with the Echlinville team in launching Dunville’s Irish Whiskey across the country.”
