James J. Fox and Two Stacks 5-year-old single pot still release

 

Dublin’s cigar and whiskey retailer, James J. Fox have collaborated with independent bottler, Two Stacks, to release a single cask, 5-year-old single pot still Irish whiskey finished in a Cabernet Franc Red Ice Wine cask. The limited release of just 300 individually numbered bottles is bottled at cask strength of 59% ABV. Priced at €90 and available for pre-sale through www.jamesfox.ie from January 9th, and in James J. Fox, 119 Grafton Street from January 12th.

Fox, Dublin’s most renowned cigar & whiskey merchants who are celebrating 143 years of trading in 119 Grafton Street and five generations of family ownership, and Two Stacks Irish Whiskey are pleased to announce their collaboration on a limited-edition single cask release, their first for 2024.

Situated in the heart of Dublin, James J. Fox is celebrated for its commitment to craftsmanship and tradition. The partnership with Two Stacks Irish whiskey opens the next chapter in their pursuit of exceptional flavour journeys.

This special release features a 5-year-old Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey finished in a Cabernet Franc Red Ice Wine cask. The result is an exceptional Irish whiskey, rich in complexity, depth, and a harmonious blend of flavours, reflecting the expertise and true quality of Two Stacks Irish Whiskey.

Bottled at cask strength of 59%, with only 300 numbered bottles available, this limited-edition whiskey is a testament to the artistry of both establishments. Each bottle represents a cherished artifact, capturing the essence of this rare collaboration between purveyors of distinction.

 

Official Tasting Notes

Nose
Immediate arrival of maraschino cherries leading to soft chocolate notes, summer fruits, raisins, a hint of nutmeg, and sponge cake.

Palate
Full of spice, Pot Still DNA runs through the whiskey, offering rich, sugar-glazed cinnamon buns, soft green apples, ripe strawberries, and cherries. The texture is creamy and full, with a touch of chili oil dancing gracefully with the sweet ice-wine influence.

Finish
An exquisite finish with delicate clove, more cinnamon, and a slight sprinkle of cocoa butter.
