The Sexton Single Malt Irish Whiskey, created by with one of the world’s few female Master Blenders, Alex Thomas, was launched in one of Dublin’s oldest venues, Smock Alley Theatre to a decadent reception in the Banquet Hall. Four bars served seven different cocktails, including The Holy Grail, Love it to Death and The Haunted all inspired by and created with The Sexton Single Malt Irish Whiskey.

Upon arrival, each guest was gifted with a ticket to The Dark Room, an experience like no other. Intimate groups of 10 entered The Dark Room for a tasting in complete darkness. The tale of The Sexton was described in his own words as the guests tasted The Sexton neat for the first time; on the nose, marzipan, allspice and fruits follow aromas of nuts and dark chocolate. The refreshing palate reveals mellow honeyed malt and oils and finally a pleasant gentle wood finish, with a mild sweetness that slowly fades.

As the lights went up, Master Blender Alex Thomas was introduced. She addressed the intimate crowd and answered their questions on her creation.

The Sexton is made from 100% Irish malted barley and is triple-distilled for smoothness in copper pot stills. The new spirit is then aged in former Oloroso sherry casks, sourced from Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. Bottled at 40% ABV, the Sexton is available at RRP of €45.
