Sliabh Liag has enjoyed considerable success with their two whiskey releases, The Silkie and The Legendary Dark Silkie, as well as success with their An Dúlamán Irish Maritime Gin.
They have shown incredible fortitude, patience and persistence to finally obtain planning permission for a new distillery in Ardara, County Donegal. Founders and distillers James and Moira Doherty have decided that they will focus on using unusual mash bills to produce GI compliant and non-compliant pot still Irish whiskey. The pot stills have been ordered from Forsyths of Scotland and will be producing triple distilled pot still Irish whiskey.
Their first crowdfunding raise, powered by Crowdcube will go to create a distillery which will allow them to meet the demand of an Irish whiskey market that is set to double by 2030.
It has always been our plan to give those who appreciate our distinctiveness – whether that’s in the flavour of our super-premium products or our home in Donegal’s wild, beautiful and unique landscape and culture – an opportunity to share in our success.
The goal is to reach €1.5m and goes live on 26th August. More details are available here on the Sliabh Liag website
