Wonderful to have Nick Ryan from Thomond Gate Irish Whiskey in visiting today with the results of the fascinating project he has worked on. The hard work, research and thought that has gone into the release of Batch 1 Cask 1 Thomond Gate Irish Whiskey has been incredible. Seriously impressed. This release of Pot Still Irish whiskey is limited to just 100 bottles from a single oloroso sherry cask.
Non-chill filtered, non-coloured and bottled at a cask strength of 61% ABV. Each bottle has been hand-bottled and wax sealed on All Saints Day and is individually numbered and signed.
Around the neck of each bottle is a uniquely numbered coin which is a replica of the traditional ‘Tubs’ that were used to purchase spent grains from the original Thomond Gate Distillery. The packaging also includes a certificate in the original writing style of the distillery. Each owner will get to enter their name in a beautiful leather-bound book, ‘Thomond Gate Book of Custodians’. We’ll get to enjoy the progression of the remaining whiskey in this cask over future batch releases to come.
