West of Ireland whiskey-makers Lough Mask Distillery have announced that they have recently taken delivery of new equipment, including a new boiler and a new forklift. The new investment is a vote of confidence from them in the future of the west of Ireland whiskey industry and will allow them to significantly increase their capacity in gin and whiskey production.
The funding was secured through a mixture of private investment through an EIIS scheme, as well as a separate funding grant from South Mayo Partnerships.
Speaking after the arrival and commissioning of the equipment General Manager John Audley commented:
“I am delighted that we now have this new equipment for use in the distillery. It allows us to increase the number of casks we produce on a weekly basis, and it’s going to mean that we can do more things here with less effort. We’re really grateful to our investors and to South Mayo Partnership for the faith they have put in us.”
The distillery is open for tours throughout the year. These can be booked in advance on their website at www.loughmaskdistillery.com
