Lambay Irish Whiskey Company has today added Lambay Malt Whiskey to their portfolio.
Lambay Whiskey’s blended malt Irish whiskey is the fourth in the Lambay Whiskey portfolio. This addition is created with a minimum of three variants of high-quality Irish single malt distillates. This is a delicate blend of both double and triple distilled malt spirit and is truly a unique elixir in the market.
Creation:
Created through a collaboration between Camus and the Baring Family’s Revelstoke Trust, Lambay Irish Whiskey is a combination of centuries-old Irish whiskey making expertise and five generations of French Cognac blending and maturation expertise.
Lambay Malt Whiskey is the ultimate expression of this renowned blending expertise from House Camus and is crafted under the watchful eye of Lambay Master of Maturation, Yonael Bernard. All single malts within this blend are independently sourced, first bourbon barrel matured and then partially finished in hand-selected French oak cognac casks, as is the signature finish for all Lambay Whiskeys. Included in this blend are Lambay Single Malt casks that have been exposed to the sea air and maritime winds on Lambay.
Details:
Bottled at a higher ABV of 43% to the former bottlings within the LIWC portfolio – (Lambay Small Batch Blend and Lambay Single Malt), Lambay Malt Whiskey is mahogany brown in colour, with gentle floral and malt notes, tropical ripe banana and effuses exotic tones of cardamom and fig, with a finish of long-lasting malt and lingering sweetness. Before bottling, the island’s own Trinity Well water is added in the final flourish, to deliver this delicious, elegant Irish whiskey.
Official Tasting notes:
Colour: Mahogany Brown
Aroma: Malt, Floral, Ripe Banana, Fig
Taste: Coconut, Malt, Dried Berries, Nutmeg and Cardamom
Finish: Long-lasting Malt with Lingering Sweetness and a hint of Spice.
Suggested serve:
Due to the higher ABV of 43% we recommend sipping straight up and with an added pinch of sea-salt, which compliments the blend excellently – serve alongside a slice of your favourite crafted dark chocolate. Alternatively, adding a small drop of water will effuse the malt and floral notes nicely, opening the notes of the blend.
Bottled at 43% ABV, non-chill filtered and retailing at €50. Initially available exclusively through Irishmalts.com and in most whiskey retailers by October.
