Killowen mixed mash Irish Whiskey
A limited release of 120 bottles which came from maturing a spirit distilled from a mixed mash bill of malted and unmalted barley, unmalted oats and unmalted rye. A 120L Oloroso cask was used to mature the spirit for 3 years and was bottled at 60.44% ABV. With just 120 700ml bottles for sale at £110, this release has already sold out.
Official Tasting Notes
Nose
Ginger bread, apricot and sultana. Almond paste and nutmeg.
Taste
Bashed fig tart with brown sugar sprinkled with pine needle.
Finish
Nutmeg over baked apple and peach. A gorgeous example of what pot still spice should be when done right.
